Notes: Set sometime after Ryan's first case as a CSI.

Summary: Ryan knows that he has to rely on something other than luck.

It had been nothing but dumb luck that had allowed Ryan to solve his first case as a CSI and to clear Calleigh's father. And even though he would normally berate himself for almost screwing up, every time he remembered Calleigh's smile directed at him, Ryan couldn't find it in himself to be upset.

After all it had been chance that had brought him to one of the conferences where she had been a guest speaker. And chance had brought him to her lab when he was ready to transfer from Patrol to the Crime Lab. Now that luck had lined everything else up for him, Ryan knew that when it came to Calleigh Dusquene, the rest was up to him.
