Although Charlie always tells her that he understands her reasons for joining Cooper's company, there are times when Jody wonders if he actually does or if he just says that he does because that's what she wants to hear. A year later, he still acts jealous whenever he's around Cooper. It doesn't matter that Cooper has a new girlfriend (another ballerina) and that Jody's living with Charlie.

When it comes down to it, Jody's never quite sure why Charlie remains jealous of Cooper. In the end, he's the one who got the girl and Cooper's attention has turned elsewhere. Whatever she had with Cooper, it was never some great star-crossed romance. It's as simple as she had had a crush on Cooper and he was in a bad place and she was convenient. What she has with Charlie is real and true yet there are times when Jody wonders what he sees on the few occasions when he watches Jody and Cooper dance.

Its horribly clichéd and it's wearing her down because she knows that as every day that passes she's being brought closer to a horrible ultimatum where she'll be forced to choose between staying on with Cooper's company and leaving Charlie or staying with Charlie and leaving Cooper's company. And she's so divided that she doesn't know if she possesses the strength to cleave herself in two. With Cooper, she's dancing the best that she's ever danced in her life and with Charlie, she's found love.
